Dear Mr O’Connell,
Most houses on Hatteras Island are built 8 plus feet above grade on wood pilings to maximize the view of the oceanand sound, allow underhouse parking,, and to be above the 100 year FEMA flood plain . Depending on the lot location and height of grade above mean sea level it is possible to build a house on a block foundation or block piers.
Thank you for your interest in the houses constructed by OBX Master Builders.
Yours, Sam Hagedon
